In poker, a fish is the sucker at the table. Also known as a “donkey,” or “live one.” It’s a derogatory term for someone who is not very good at poker. While there is no official definition of a poker “fish” in the dictionary, it’s widely accepted in poker circles that the fish at the table is the player who is playing very poorly.
